Riverside Golf Course3500 Bannock Highway
Pocatello, Idaho 83204
Named for the Portneuf River that runs alongside the course, Riverside Golf Course lies on choice real estate in a protected valley on the southern end of Pocatello. At an elevation nearly 500 feet lower than the Highland Golf Course, Riverside enjoys a longer playing season. The course features large, mature trees throughout, and smallish greens crank up the challenge. Relatively short, Riverside stretches the measuring tape to just over 6000 yards. The clever layout makes it enjoyable to golfers of all levels and styles.
The front nine, developed more recently, consists mostly of straight holes: seven par 4s, one par 3, and a par 5. The back nine, designed by Pete Hiskey, offers a much more "interesting" set of holes, ranging from the drivable par-4 12th to the double-dogleg par-5 18th. Both municipal courses in town offer driving ranges as well as season passes.
